ABCloudz is seeking a senior Snowflake administrator to support an existing Snowflake environment within a customer-facing consulting engagement. This role is focused on platform administration, access management, environment ownership, and customer-requested administrative changes in a live production environment.
This is not a data engineering role, not a BI developer role, and not a position for someone who has only touched Snowflake through pipelines or reporting. The ideal candidate has actually owned Snowflake administration work and can take requests from the customer, determine the correct administrative action, and implement changes directly. The right person will work closely with customer stakeholders and users to support the Snowflake platform, maintain stability and control, and ensure that administrative work is executed clearly, safely, and within scope
Responsible
- Support and maintain an existing Snowflake environment in production
- Manage users, roles, permissions, grants, and access controls
- Handle customer-requested administrative changes directly
- Support warehouse administration, usage monitoring, and environment-level configuration
- Troubleshoot platform issues related to access, query behavior, usage, and general administration
- Implement controlled platform changes and feature enablement where appropriate
- Work with customer stakeholders and users to clarify requests and execute the correct admin action
- Support platform readiness for downstream analytics and reporting workloads
- Document changes, findings, and recommendations clearly
- Operate within defined processes for security, change management, and production support
Core Snowflake Responsibilities
- User setup and access provisioning
- Role creation and modification
- Permission and grant management
- Access troubleshooting
- Warehouse administration and environment configuration
- Customer-requested platform changes
- Administrative support for new features or controlled enablement activities
- General ownership of the Snowflake platform from an admin/support perspective
How You Will Work
- Operate in a consulting environment where clarity, accountability, and communication matter
- Work directly with customer stakeholders and users, not only internal technical teams
- Validate and clarify incoming requests before execution
- Distinguish between Snowflake administration work and BI, development, or data engineering work
- Balance responsiveness with careful evaluation of security, risk, and impact
- Take ownership of outcomes and communicate next steps clearly
Required Experience
- Hands-on Snowflake administration experience in a production environment
- Proven experience owning Snowflake admin tasks directly, not just supporting work around Snowflake
- Strong experience with users, roles, permissions, grants, and access controls
- Experience with warehouse administration, environment configuration, and platform monitoring
- Ability to manage customer-requested admin work directly and safely
- Ability to distinguish platform administration from development, BI, or data engineering work
- Experience working in customer-facing, consulting, or stakeholder-facing environments
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment in production settings
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting Snowflake in regulated or security-sensitive environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with integrations, data movement, or downstream reporting dependencies from the platform side
- Experience supporting feature enablement or evaluating new Snowflake capabilities in production
- Experience working with BI or data engineering teams while maintaining clear platform ownership boundaries
What We Value
- Platform ownership
