Solutions Architect
ABCloudz is looking for a Solutions Architect to work on customer engagements. The key activity is analyzing, documenting and creating solutions for existing higher education customers’ Ellucian Banner implementations (including processes, dependencies, workflows) with the goal of modernizing these systems to SaaS. You will work closely with customers to understand the “current state” of their Banner implementations through interviews and technical analysis, will document the learnings, will create specifications and requirements documents for developers, and will work closely with the customers and the development teams to ensure successful modernization implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, capture details, and document the “current state” of customers’ Ellucian Banner implementations.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to capture business needs and technical requirements.
- Design end-to-end, cloud-first architectures aligned with industry best practices.
- Develop architectural blueprints, diagrams, and detailed technical documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate and recommend platforms, technologies, and tools to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- Conduct solution and code reviews to maintain quality and standards.
- Stay current with emerging trends in cloud computing, SaaS, and the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Lead practice development by creating best-practice frameworks, blog posts, service offerings, marketing and partnership materials, and contributing to partner programs and technical validations.
- Engage in consulting and product development to deliver tailored, client-specific solutions.
- Work with customers across the US, with expected travel of up to 25%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Solutions Architect or similar role.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and modern architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead practice development, including internal documentation, thought leadership, offerings, and partner engagement.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft certifications at Associate and Expert levels.
- Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
