Oracle/PostgreSQL DB Developer

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in database application development
  • Practical experience in data modeling and writing stored code
  • Practical experience in converting stored code, commands, and queries from Oracle to PostgreSQL and vice versa
  • Practical experience with AWS SCT, ora2pg converting tools
  • Practical experience in the performance tuning of database commands and queries
  • Practical experience with Python, bash script
  • Good written and spoken English (Upper-Intermediate)

Responsibilities

  • Tasks of the migration of database objects, converting stored code, queries, SQL commands, auxiliary scripts, and data from Oracle to PostgreSQL syntax (+ AWS RDS, Aurora)
  • Performance tuning of migrated applications on the PostgreSQL
  • Modernization of the application, ETL, reporting, etc, to work with PostgreSQL instead of Oracle
  • Participation in the development of products/tools for working with different DBs

Will be a plus

  • Experience with databases: SQL Server, MySQL
  • Experience with DWH, BI, and ETL systems
  • Experience with AWS cloud
  • Experience in administering database servers and operating systems (Windows, Linux)
