Senior System Engineer
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior System Administrator to maintain and develop our internal production infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring that our infrastructure remains resilient and efficient and possess the skills and vision necessary to automate, optimize, and reduce costs associated with our infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field; Master’s preferred
- 2+ years of experience with Proxmox virtualization environments, including expertise in live migration, high-availability configurations, and clustering setups
- At least 5 years of experience in network management, specifically with Mikrotik routers and switches, including a strong understanding of DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, routing, switching, NAT, and bonding
- Solid background in both Windows and Linux system administration
- Proficiency in managing Active Directory and scripting with Bash and PowerShell
- Experience with Linstor or similar storage solutions and thorough understanding of backup and restoration strategies for complex environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the internal production infrastructure
- Implement strategies to ensure infrastructure resiliency and cost efficiency
- Automate and optimize infrastructure processes
- Design and maintain a robust, secure, and scalable Proxmox virtualization environment
- Implement and manage Mikrotik network configurations ensuring efficient routing, switching, and network services
- Develop and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.
- Automate repetitive system administration tasks using Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Puppet
- Participate in the design and execution of backup and restoration procedures
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead resolution efforts
- Maintain documentation for system architectures, configurations, procedures, and service records
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT operations by staying informed of new technologies and best practices
Will be a plus
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions like Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, and Prometheus
- Experience with VPN solutions like SoftEther
